Andrea Berta defends that the current colchoneros team “has players with a great future”

Andrea Berta, sporting director of Atlético de Madrid, spoke on Tuesday about the club’s plans for the summer market, saying that an economic position is the most appropriate, given the team “with value and a great future” for mattresses.

“The years of great signings are over. For us, the important thing will be to continue with this team, which has value, with players who have a bright future. For the market to start, we will have to wait,” revealed The Italian coach at Calciomercato, following the achievement of the Maestrelli award, which concerns the best technical directors.

Berta also hailed the work done by Diego Simeone since joining the Rojiblancos in 2011.

“Atletico Madrid weren’t used to winning and something big was built with Simeone’s cycle. When you win big things, the next year you always lose something, maybe to be in terms of motivation. You can’t always win and now you have to start,” he stressed of Atlético’s campaign this season, having been champions of Spain in 2020/21.
