Bairro de Ramalde pays tribute to a fan who died during the FC Porto festivities

Dozens of relatives, friends and neighbors of Igor Silva, the young man stabbed to death during FC Porto’s league title celebrations, next to the Estádio do Dragão, paid tribute to the victim in the Ramalde neighborhood , demanding that justice be swift to find the culprits.

On Sunday evening, in the heart of the neighborhood, where Igor lived and was loved, mourners gathered for a white balloon launch. They also placed candles and a giant picture of the victim so they could remember Igor.

According to testimonies made by residents in JN, friends and family want justice to rush to arrest the suspect or suspects in the death of Igor Silva, fearing that there will be an escalation of violence if there is no speed in finding the culprits.

The autopsy should take place this Monday at the INML in Porto, to establish whether the victim was stabbed to death or with another type of blunt object. The Porto judicial police are gathering evidence to support the thesis of a settling of scores between the victim and other FC Porto supporters. There have been no arrests yet.

Igor Silva, 26, was stabbed on Sunday morning at the Alameda das Antas, next to the Estádio do Dragão, in Porto, during celebrations for the victory of FC Porto, who became national champions.

Rescued on the spot, he died in São João hospital. In his company was Elisabete Pinho, who tried to stop the attacks and ended up being injured, but not seriously. Two suspects have been identified, but no arrests have yet been made. The victim and the alleged attackers knew each other, all pointing to a settling of scores.

But the reasons for the violent attack date back to this year’s Queima das Fitas, in which Igor Jorge Salazar da Silva allegedly abused a young woman who later, in the company of her mother, went to the neighborhood of Ramalde, where he lived, trying to satisfactions. The two women ended up being attacked, which angered the two men already identified by the PSP as possible attackers of Igor.

At the Estádio da Luz, where FC Porto were crowned champions, the two groups started a fight, which would end in Porto, next to Dragão, with the victim’s stabbing.
