A The Spanish press claimed on Tuesday night that Barcelona were no longer interested in signing Alex Grimaldo, a player who is in the final year of his contract with Benfica.
The Mundo Deportivo newspaper has advanced in the online edition that the left-hander of the reds leaves the options of the Blaugrana set, which already points to other targets. Chelsea player Marcos Alonso is the main target, and Valencia’s José Gayà appears as an alternative to the London defender.
This is bad news for Benfica, who have already sold the Spanish side next summer, while Alex Grimaldo is six months away from being able to sign freely with another club.
