Domingos Soares de Oliveira, one of Benfica’s two SAD CEOs, warns of the consequences of a Benfica failure in the 2022/23 Champions League

Offense is one of the areas where Red Squad will change the most, starting right away with Darwin’s departure. There are plenty of European giants who have positioned themselves to secure the Benfica striker, but there is one who is already trying to get ahead of the race and with several million on the table. This is Paris Saint-Germain, a club whose intention to sign the Uruguayan is already known in Luz, and who are already preparing an offer of around 120 million euros (the termination clause amounts to 150 million) to overcome all competition.

On the same day that Darwin made the news again, in the event of a possible departure, Domingos Soares de Oliveira, CEO of Benfica’s SAD, was interviewed by the economic site ECO, explaining that “Benfica is not obliged to sell Darwin”. However, he warns that if the club miss out on the Champions League there will have to be more sales.
