The U-21 national team coach has called up five players from Benfica for the last three qualifying matches for the 2023 European Championship in the category, against Belarus, Liechtenstein and Greece. The names of the elected were announced by Rui Jorge in the afternoon of this Friday, May 20 at Cidade do Futebol.
Benfica’s roster of five players in the squad consists of Samuel Soares, Raphael Rodrigues, Paul Bernardo, Goncalo Ramos and Henrique Araujo. Among the coach’s choices is Tiago Dantas, an athlete linked to the club, but who is on loan this season.
The Quinas team will face Belarus on neutral groundespecially at the FIFA Academy Stadium in Yerevan, Armenia, the June 4at 2:00 p.m., heading to Liechtensteinwhere he will face the local team for June 7at 7:45 p.m., both according to mainland Portugal time.
To finish, Portugal host Greece at the Estádio Cidade de Barcelos, on the last day of Group D, the June 11at 8:15 p.m.
