The Public Security Police issued, this Thursday, a statement in which it announces the traffic restrictions in the city of Invicta, due to the celebration of the title of national champion 2021/22 by FC Porto.
“The Futebol Clube do Porto team that won the title of national football champion of La Liga Portugal on the 7th, will be received at the town hall of Porto, on May 14 (Saturday), after the match against Grupo Desportivo. Estoril Praia, to be held at 6 p.m., at Estádio do Dragão.
In addition to reinforcing the maintenance of order in the areas where the festivities will take place, “in order to guarantee particular and general security conditions”, from 4 p.m., road traffic accessing Avenida dos Aliados will also be cut off and controlled pedestrian access.
Thus, traffic on the following arteries will be prohibited: Praça da República with Rua do Almada (do not let Rua do Almada down); Rua Gonçalo Cristóvão with the Viaduto Gonçalo Cristóvão (you have to go to the viaduct – there is a total traffic cut when the bus arrives); Rua do Almada and Rua Dr. Ricardo Jorge (requires you to walk down Rua Dr. Ricardo Jorge); Rua de Ceuta and Rua da Picaria (must go up towards Rua da Picaria); Rua do Almada and Rua Ramalho Ortigão (must go down Rua do Almada); Praça D. Filipe Lencastre with Rua do Almada (requires entering the Ceuta tunnel or going up the square); Place de Gomes Teixeira with Place Guilherme Gomes (it forces you to go to Place Gomes Teixeira); Rua Mouzinho da Silveira with Praça Almeida Garrett (does not allow you to go to Avenida dos Aliados); Praça D. João I with Rua Sá da Bandeira (hinders the flow of traffic on Praça D. João I); Rua Formosa and Rua Sá da Bandeira (it does not allow you to go to Rua Formosa or go down Rua de Sá da Bandeira); Rua Fernandes Tomás and Rua Sá da Bandeira (it does not allow you to take Fernandes Tomás or go down Rua de Sá da Bandeira, forcing you to go up Rua de Sá da Bandeira); Rua Alferes Malheiro with Rua da Trindade (this forces you to walk up Rua de Camões); Rua do Bonjardim and Rua Fernandes Tomás (it forces traffic to head towards Rua de Sá da Bandeira).
The PSP also reveals the route of the bus from the Estádio do Dragão to Avenida dos Aliados, which is scheduled to depart at 10:30 p.m. From Porto Stadium, follow Futebol Clube do Porto Road, Alameda das Antas, Fernão Magalhães Avenue, Carlos Malheiro Dias Street, Constitution Street, São Brás Street, Camões Street, Trindade Street and Trindade Square .
To all the supporters who wish to accompany the passage of the bus with the champions, the police authority requests that along the route “keep the safety distance indicated by the police officers who will escort the entourage of FC Porto, to avoid accidents and bus blocking”.
For those walking to Avenida dos Aliados, there will be five access points: on Rua Dr. Ricardo Jorge with Rua Clube Fenianos, Rua Elísio de Melo with Rua do Almada (Praça Filipa de Lencastre), Rua from Sampaio Bruno with Avenida dos Aliados, Rua Dr. Magalhães Lemos with Rua do Bonjardim (Praça D. João I) and Rua Guilherme Costa Carvalho with Rua do Bonjardim. The PSP also warns that “measures similar to those for access to sports arenas will be put in place, it is therefore requested that backpacks or other bags, as well as objects normally prohibited, are not taken during the access to sports venues”.
“For security reasons, when the maximum security capacity of Avenida dos Aliados is considered exhausted, more people will not be allowed to enter, therefore the PSP asks for everyone’s understanding, in case they are not would not be possible to access it”, alert.
