France guarantees Darwin refuses to play for Manchester United and Newcastle – Benfica

Rádio RMC Sport says Benfica striker intends to play in Champions League

Darwin Núñez continues to be one of the great market shakers that has yet to officially open. The Benfica striker has a €150m clause but the European ‘sharks’ want to sign him for a lower price. According to French radio RMC Sport, two clubs in England are interested in the Uruguayan striker but have been “ruled out” by the player’s wishes. Newcastle and Manchester United are reportedly aiming to move towards contracting the 22-year-old, but he has already made it clear he only wants to play at clubs that are in the Champions League. Well, Magpies and Red Devils will miss out on the UEFA Millionaires League. In England, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are guaranteed Champions League presence next season. Tottenham and Arsenal are still fighting for a place on the last day of the Premier League. According to the same source, the emblem of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Dalot would be ready to pay 80 million euros.

Paris Saint-Germain are one of the clubs that remain interested in Darwin – whom Benfica signed from Almería in 2020 – but negotiations are still ongoing for the striker who in 2021/22 has scored 34 goals in 41 games officials.
