Frederico Figueiredo wins Volta a Albergaria on his return from W52-FC Porto

At Albergaria-a-Velha, Ricardo Vilela (W52-FC Porto) finished second

Frederico Figueiredo (Glassdrive-Q8-Anicolor) won the 21st edition of the Volta a Albergaria by bike, which marked the return of W52-FC Porto to the national team, now under the orders of Jorge Henriques.

The W52 failed the last two stages of the Grand Prix O Jogo, due to the Prova Limpa operation, which at the time even led to the arrest of the then sporting director Nuno Ribeiro and his deputy José Rodrigues and the constitution of 10 cyclists as defendants.

Today in Albergaria-a-Velha, Ricardo Vilela (W52-FC Porto) finished second, finishing the 155.7 kilometer race, two seconds behind Frederico Figueiredo, after the two were part of a successful breakaway that formed early in the race.

A total of 17 riders, about a third of the peloton, attempted the breakout, which defined the top spots, with Frederico Figueiredo winning the sprint, with a time of 03:42.10 hours, two seconds less than Ricardo Vilela, while that Luís Mendonça (Glassdrive-Q8-Anicolor) finished third, at 21.

The first organized hunting party arrived 2.57 minutes later.
