The mayor of Vila Real announces the shooting of a film related to the speed of cars in the region.
The 51st International Circuit of Vila Real will have an additional weight. Before, during and after filming will be done for a major Hollywood production related to automobile speed. In the city and on social networks there is a rumor that this is another sequel to “Furious Speed”, but Mayor Rui Santos is not engaged in announcing the title, although he confesses with a solitary “go” the certainty of the film.
Rui Santos assumed that he “still shouldn’t talk much about this issue,” but “imagining it will be a reality,” he responded with questions in the form of an answer: “Why Hollywood has- Did he decide to come to our region and shoot for a film associated above all with speed? Is it a coincidence? I don’t believe in chance”.
Another question for another non-chance: “Why will there be around 600 people here, for almost two months, associated with these images?” Plus: “Why are electricians, carpenters, warehousemen, hotels and restaurants being contacted to provide services to this producer? It is certainly no coincidence”.
The President of the Chamber guaranteed that “all this is happening” and, therefore, Vila Real will have “an economically more important factor for the region” and will be “an important sample for the world to know about Vila Real”. This in addition to being another element of “animation around speed in the department”.
Filming will take place over three months and should start mid-June. The 51st International Circuit, which will take place from July 1 to 3, comprises six events, with a focus on the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR), in which Tiago Monteiro (Honda) participates. The Portuguese driver has already won two WTCR races at the Vila Real street circuit. The other five are national competitions and have a large number of registered drivers.
This Thursday, the veil was lifted on this year’s race poster and the Circuit’s first logo. Renato Costa, of the Bisarro company, said that it is composed of a circumference, reminiscent of the wheels of cars and the scorching sun that is felt at the time of the races, by the waves of the speed of a car and by the layout of the circuit that resembles the silhouette of a dog’s head.
