Quaresma announces the end point of the connection to Vitória de Guimarães, where it arrived in 2019
Quaresma announced this Friday the end point of the connection to Vitória de Guimarães. “My relationship with Vitória has come to an end,” says the player in the announcement of the latest point after two years with the Victorian club.
In the long text published on social networks, the player leaves criticism, you know O JOGO, addressed to coach Pepa. “I could, as you well know, maintain my contract for another year, but neither can I remain indifferent to the financial difficulties that Vitória is going through. […] I hope to inspire others to do the same and not get stuck in contracts where they only benefit themselves.”
It is recalled that Quaresma, who also announces his intention to continue playing next season, has played enough games to allow him to activate the option to renew his contract for another season.
“It’s not time for me to get my boots ready yet. I’m in good shape, I still know how to play football and I want to keep doing what makes me happy. Soon we’ll see each other on the pitch,” can we still read.
My relationship with Vitória has ended.
I admit that on the pitch I would have liked to be able to help the team more. And that I sometimes felt a certain sadness at not having the possibility of doing it as I would like.
I also believe that off the field I played my role. I helped the club gain even more notoriety around the world and this was positive in the recognition and appreciation of the Vitória brand and the city of Guimarães.
Many thanks to the fans for the affection with which they welcomed me, for the frankness, the eye contact with which we always treat each other and for the encouragement that even in the worst moments they were able to give to the whole team. You are the heart that beats the emblem that for a year I wore on my chest.
I could, as you well know, maintain my contract for another year, but neither can I remain indifferent to the financial difficulties that Vitória is going through. This way I can also help the club save a little. I hope to inspire others to do the same and not get stuck in contracts where they only benefit themselves.
I also want to leave a very special thank you to all the workers of the club, we will forever keep the smiles and the good humor that we exchange each time we meet. Thank you for everything.
It’s not yet time for me to pack my bags. I’m in good shape, I can still play football and I want to continue doing what makes me happy.
Soon we will meet again in the countryside. The trivela will lift many more stadiums.”
