The Olympic Stadium supported the team despite the draw in the last home game of the season
José Mourinho was full of praise for Roma fans, who expressed unconditional support for the coach and the team even after the draw against relegated Venice (1-1) on Saturday.
“These people deserve everything. What we saw here today will be seen at San Siro when Serie A ends, I’ve lived in stadiums like this, but only after winning a championship. is an incredible thing, an absolutely incredible social phenomenon,” he said at a press conference.
The Portuguese coach assured that he would stay at the Olimpico in Rome, in particular because he had two years left on his contract and promised that he would do everything to win the first Conference League final, in order to reimburse the support of “a special club”.
“We want to thank the people, they were once again our family. If we can give them a title, I think it will be deserved by us, but it would be even more deserved for them”, he underlined.
Roma drew 1-1 with Venice on Saturday in the 37th and penultimate Serie A match, a result that could see them drop to eighth place if Fiorentina and Atalanta win their respective round matches, against Milan and Sampdoria.
