LE BAL – Flamengo by Paulo Sousa draws with Talleres by Pedro Caixinha (Libertadores)

In a match referring to the 4th round of Group H of the Libertadores Cup, a duel between Portuguese coaches, the Argentinians of Talleres Córdoba, commanded by Pedro Caixinha, received the Brazilians of Flamengo, under the orders of Paulo Sousa, registering, at the end, a tie at two balls.

The match did not start in the best way for the Rio de Janeiro team, since in the 13th minute (for those who are superstitious…), central Pablo Castro was injured, leaving his place to former Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.

In the first half, as popular wisdom says, “bad luck never comes alone” and, in the 34th minute, Willian Arão scored an own goal (already in the previous round, Flamengo, in the victory in Santiago, against Universidade Católica, 3-2, conceded two own goals, by Pablo Castro and Mauricio Isla), giving the advantage to the Argentine team, score with which the teams went to the locker room.

However, the additional stage began in a very different way, Flamengo bringing the score to 1-1, thanks to one of its flagships, the Uruguayan attacking midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta (50th).

Just seven minutes later, Talleres Córdoba responded with the 2-1, by another Uruguayan, striker Michael Santos, and at 69′, striker Pedro Guilherme, the first time he touched the ball, just entered (68 ‘), the pass from Gabriel Barbosa ‘Gabigol’, established what would be the final result: 2-2.

Even so, until the final whistle, Paulo Sousa would suffer another setback as he was forced to substitute another player due to injury, veteran left-back Filipe Luís ex-Atlético Madrid, for right-back Rodinei.

After this draw recorded at the Mario Kempes stadium – in which the former Benfica, David Luiz, started, as usual, in Flamengo, completing the 90 minutes, while the former creator of FC Porto, Diego, n did not come off the bench – everything continues equal in the standings, that is, the Cariocas lead Group H with 10 points, followed by Talleres Córdoba by three points.
