The president of Vitória de Guimarães promises to move forward with a proposal to modify the League’s disciplinary regulations to expand the criminal framework whenever it is proven that the practice of insulting athletes at the inside the stadiums is proven.
António Miguel Cardoso leaves the player Rochinha, target of verbal abuse in the game with Boavista, to demand the revision of “the regulations applicable to the behavior of the public in sports broadcasts”, hoping that it can create “a better definition of what what are unacceptable “racist xenophobic or other” behavior, all of which, he notes, aims to “increase the applicable sanctions”.
“It is unfortunate what has happened with Rochinha since he signed for Vitória. He has been the target of verbal attacks that affect both the man and the athlete. We are outraged by what has happened. past and we believe that the regulations should be changed. That is why we are going to make an exhibition to the League and the Government, ”guarantees the Victorian leader.
In public statements issued by the club, António Miguel Cardoso also regretted the content of the League delegate’s report on the game against Boavista last Friday at the Estádio do Bessa. “He was soft on words about what happened. The institutions must be attentive to these situations so that this does not happen again”, thus justified the repair.
Finally, to the player who also represented the checkered emblem, the Victorian president left a word of support and comfort. “Rochinha is stronger than all that. But we have to protect it. I hope that these primary acts will not happen again”, concludes the leader.
