Sri Lanka continues to descend into chaos!

According to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe (73), the Indian Ocean country has run out of money to pay for oil imports.

In a speech, the 73-year-old prepared the population for the difficult times of the coming months. Sri Lanka is in the midst of the worst economic crisis in its history. Trigger: the fall in international tourism during the corona pandemic. The previous government of ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa (76) has also been accused of mismanagement.

Wickremesinghe was named Sri Lanka’s new president last Thursday (May 12) after weeks of unrest against his predecessor Rajapaksa.

Today, Wickremesinghe is fighting desperately against national bankruptcy. On Sunday, he spoke with World Bank officials about aid to his country.
