Igor Silva, 26, was stabbed on Sunday morning at the Alameda das Antas, next to the Estádio do Dragão, in Porto, during celebrations for the victory of FC Porto, who became national champions.
Rescued on the spot, he died in São João hospital. In his company was Elisabete Pinho, who tried to stop the attacks and ended up being injured, but not seriously. Two suspects have been identified, but no arrests have yet been made. The victim and the alleged attackers knew each other, all pointing to a settling of accounts.
But the reasons for the violent attack date back to this year’s Queima das Fitas, in which Igor Jorge Salazar da Silva allegedly abused a young woman who later, in the company of her mother, went to the neighborhood of Ramalde, where he lived, trying to satisfactions. The two women ended up being attacked, which angered the two men already identified by the PSP as possible attackers of Igor. They are the young woman’s father, whom JN knows is Marco “Orelhas” (former Canelas 2010 player and protagonist of a violent attack on a football referee in 2017), and his 19 year old brother.
