The conquest of the 30th national football title by FC Porto, after a triumph over Benfica (0-1), and Porto’s journey in this edition of the Bwin League are today highlighted by the international specialized press.
“FC Porto are champions of the Portuguese League, after a classic that had a goal and a lot of confusion against Benfica”, writes the Spanish newspaper “Marca” on the website, highlighting the criticism of the Spaniard Alex Grimaldo at the refereeing team.
In France, L’Équipe claims that “FC Porto wins the title and the classic, thanks to a victory obtained in a bad football show”, at the Estádio da Luz.
The triumph in the Benfica camp is also highlighted on the website of the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper: “FC Porto reconquers Portugal. They are champions for the 30th time. A 0-1 win over Benfica leaves Sérgio Conceição’s side unreachable by previous champions Sporting”.
The Brazilian newspaper Globoesporte also mentions Porto’s title in its edition: “Porto beats Benfica, wins the 30th title of the [campeonato] Portuguese and reduces the gap with the rival. The team led by Sérgio Conceição guarantees the cup with a trick [jornada] before”.
The newspaper Olé, from Argentina, highlights “Champion of Porto against Benfica, from Otamendi”, captain of Benfica and international for the country of the Pampas.
