THE BALL – Bucks lead in dramatic final, Grizzlies lose game and Morant (NBA)

The Milwaukee Bucks had Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 42 points last night and a great finishing point to beat the Boston Celtics 103-101 in Milwaukee.

The defending champions go 2-1 in the Eastern Conference semi-final series and play one more game at home on Monday.

The Celtics even started the fourth period 12 points behind, but ended up making it 100-99 with less than 2 minutes remaining. Then Giannis scored 2 points (101-100 in favor of the Bucks), Jaylen Brown did not score in response and Jrue Holiday raised for the Bucks (103-100).

On the last pitch, the Celtics had a chance to win, but the end was dramatic: Marcus Smart was fouled and hit the first free throw (101-103). The only chance of trying to win would be to miss the second on purpose and try for a basket that was worth more, so he shot against the board. The ball was in the air. Horford managed to push him into the basket, but within hundredths of a second the clock was already ticking.

In the other game of the night, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies by a clear score of 142-112 in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals in San Francisco. Stephen Curry was the Warriors’ leading scorer with 30 points. Jordan Poole scored 27. Ja Morant scored 34 – including a midfield triple near half-time, but injured his right knee in the final period and is worried about Game 4.
