Everton missed the chance to secure their Premier League status when they were beaten at home by Brentford (2-3) in a match in the 37th round of the competition.

started well on caramelswith Calvert-Lewin opening the scoring after just 10 minutes, but shortly after defender Jarrad Branthwaite saw the straight red card, leaving Frank Lampard’s side shorthanded.

Evil never comes and, in the 37th minute, Coleman headed his own goal with a left shot from Yoane Wissa, earning the equaliser.

Everton even took the lead before the break, on a penalty converted by the Brazilian Richarlson, but in the second half the the bees led the turnaround in a short space of two minutes, with goals from Wissa and Rico Henry (62′ and 64′).

In the final game, Lampard still launched Salomón Rondón in an attempt to earn a draw, which would be worth keeping, but the Venezuelan striker quickly committed a reckless foul, leaving the team down to 9 players.
