Seven months after being seriously injured, Rodrigo Pinho has recovered and has given an exclusive interview to BTV. The striker has recently returned to training and says he is fine: “I am 100% clinically. Physically I still have shortcomings, but clinically, what is most important, I am 100%.
Rodrigo Pinho revealed what went through his mind during the serious injury: “It’s difficult. I have always fought to get to a club like Benfica. There is this feeling of frustration with the injury, from my first season. All I wanted was to be on the pitch to help my teammates. Now, thank God, it’s over. The worst is behind us and now is the time to think about the future. I’m sure there are many good things to come.
Before the injury, Rodrigo Pinho made his debut as a goalscorer with an eagle on his chest, in the rout against Santa Clara (5-0), in the fifth round of the League.
“It’s special. It was a shame not to have played more often, I even wanted to score at the Estádio da Luz, but I’m sure that goal will come anyway. The feeling of frustration with the injury remained… I could have made more games, more goals, but I’m sure there’s still a lot to come,” he fired, explaining the more restrained celebrations: “The game was not I didn’t even celebrate much I didn’t know if I was offside and now there’s VAR I have to wait to celebrate I know my goal paved the way for us to win the match. It was very important in this victory.
Remember that Rodrigo Pinho arrived at Benfica at the start of the season, from Marítimo. In total, he played three games with an eagle on his chest.
