O FC Porto will live a Saturday of great emotions. Against Estoril, the Dragons will close the I Liga 2021/22, lifting the trophy won in the previous round at the Estádio da Luz against Benfica. To add to the happiness, bad news for the blues and whites: this will be Chancel Mbemba’s last game with the colors of Porto.
The newspaper A Bola writes in its edition this Friday that the Congolese defender will bid farewell to Dragão in this match against Estoril. The player is at the end of his contract with the Dragons and, despite the club’s first attempts to extend the link, Mbemba did not comply with the request and is now looking for a new direction.
The same source clarifies that several emblems are eyeing the 28-year-old. Close to a zero-cost exit, Mbemba is of interest to clubs like Betis, Lyon and AC Milan, so nothing is decided yet.
Mbemba arrived at FC Porto in 2018, from Newcastle, in exchange for 4.5 million euros. He will bid farewell to the club after winning two leagues, a Portuguese Cup and a Super Cup, with 136 games played.
