The Lisbon Half Marathon reduces traffic on the 25th of April Bridge. And there are more restrictions

The PSP has announced the temporary closure to traffic, this weekend, of several arteries in Algés, Oeiras, Lisbon and on the 25 de Abril bridge due to the 31st Lisbon EDP International Marathon.

This Sunday, the day of the marathon, traffic on Avenida Marginal, between Cruz Quebrada and Algés, will be prohibited from 7:00 a.m., CRIL access to Marginal from 8:00 a.m. and the 25 de Abril bridge in both directions from from 9:00 a.m. :05h.

The competitions will also close on Sunday road traffic between Avenida de Ceuta and Rua Oliveira Miguens from 8:15 a.m., on Praça do Império (including public transport) from 8:00 a.m., accesses to Avenida 24 de Julho and Cais do Sodré and Sul and Sueste stations from 9:15 a.m., and on Avenida Marginal, in Algés, from Alto da Boa Viagem from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

From 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, access to the 25 de Abril bridge will also be prohibited from the Cascais highway, Avenida de Ceuta, Viaduto Duarte Pacheco and Eixo Norte Sul, towards the west, where the traffic cut will be on the last exit to Monsanto.

On Sunday, the Women’s Elite will depart from Algés at 10.05 a.m. and the Men’s Elite at 10.20 a.m., with the arrival in Jerónimos.

On the April 25 Bridge, the half marathon leaves on Sunday at 10:20 a.m. from Praça da Portagem to Alcântara, Avenida da Índia, Alcântara metal viaduct area (in the opposite direction of traffic), Cais do Sodré, Avenida 24 from July towards Alcântara, Avenida da India, Jerónimos Monastery towards Algés, Avenida Marginal, Rua dos Finanças Voluntários do Dafundo and return to Jerónimos through the same arteries (in the opposite direction of traffic) until the finish.

The “Race of 10 KM” starts at 10:55 a.m. from Ponte 25 de Abril (about 200 meters on the board), with the objective placed in the street of the Centro Cultural de Belém.
