The Minister of Internal Administration, José Luís Carneiro, said this Saturday that all security means are mobilized so that the celebration of FC Porto, as national football champions, in the town of Invicta, promotes sport national.

“All the means of the security forces have been prepared for several days, in collaboration with the Porto City Hall, with the Metropolitan Command of Porto. Both in their preventive and operational dimensions, all means, of course, are mobilized to contribute to this. – this is the most important thing – for the festivities to take place, with a view to enhancing what is and should be a celebration of sport and the values ​​of sport”, said José Luís Carneiro.

The minister was questioned by journalists on security following the incidents that occurred in the Bairro do Cerco, in Porto, on the sidelines of the presentation of this year’s special device for fighting rural fires (DECIR) in Castanheira de Pera.

“I call on all citizens, all supporters, to try to celebrate this victory in a festive way, because with this we will be helping to convey a message that values ​​the importance of sport as a fundamental element of our companies,” said.

José Luís Carneiro also congratulated “the national champions for their great victory” in this edition of the Bwin League, which ends this weekend, with the completion of the 34th round of the competition.

“A victory and being a national champion is always the result of a lot of effort, of a lot of sacrifice, of a lot of work, of a lot of deprivation”, he said, wishing that the “memorial celebration of this victory, which will take place tonight, will truly be one that honors the effort and the glory of those who have won this national championship”.

FC Porto, leaders and already champions, with 88 points, host Estoril Praia, in eighth place, with 39, this Saturday, from 6 p.m., in a match that will be refereed by António Nobre, judge of the Leiria Football Association .
