US woman has to live on sofa for 12 years – corpse merged with sofa – News

Incredible crime of the United States!

Sheila (64) and Clay Fletcher (65) allegedly forced their autistic daughter Lacey († 36) to live on the couch for at least twelve years. The corpse had merged with the sofa, lying in a hole covered in excrement and maggots.

The horror parents now face second-degree murder charges. In American law, this means murder without intent to kill. The Fletchers face life imprisonment.

As reported by several media, the crime took place in Slaughter (Louisiana) – a town of only 1000 inhabitants. Amazing: Many neighbors didn’t even know the Fletchers had a daughter. The couple were considered pillars of the community and were involved in festivals and the like.

The couple reportedly gave the autistic woman no medical help for 20 years. Forensic investigators noted that the corpse had feces pushed onto its face, chest and abdomen. Her hair was matted and Lacey was covered in bug bites.

Sheila and Clay Fletcher are now in jail awaiting trial. The parents of the horror must then answer in front of a jury. Crime scene and body photos have already been shown to the jury. “They were completely shocked,” coroner Dr. Ewell Bickham said. “Some gasped in horror, others just stared at me in disbelief.”

The medical examiner estimates that the victim must have spent at least twelve years on the sofa. The cause of death was malnutrition due to neglect and Lacey was unable to move. He was also diagnosed with severe blood poisoning and numerous ulcers, some of which were painful to the bone.

The gruesome act came to light because the Fletchers called the police in January. An officer attended the otherwise perfectly clean home after the couple reported that their daughter Lacey was not breathing.

The cop immediately called Dr. Bickam. The coroner recalls: “The scene was disgusting. I’ve seen terrible things in my life – but nothing like this.” The Fletchers sat in the kitchen and had no explanation. “I couldn’t eat for a week and just cried.”
